Wilma Lou Hughson, age 95, a lifelong resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri. She was born the daughter of Earl Cox and Myrtle (Thompson) Cox Phillips on July 16, 1930 in Braymer, Missouri.
On October 29, 1948, Wilma married the love of her life, Robert Hughson. They celebrated 72 years together until his passing on May 7, 2021. She was a member of McBee Chapel and the Pleasant Hill Lions Club. Wilma was a devoted farm wife, working alongside Robert doing whatever needed to be done. She smiled the biggest when given the opportunity to share pictures or stories of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth (Debby) Hughson of Sweet Springs, Missouri, Johnny (Jodie) Hughson of Orrick, Missouri, Carol (Jeff) Anderson of Braymer, Missouri, and daughter-in-law, Mary Hughson of Braymer, Missouri; her grandchildren, Julie (Mike) Howard, Shawn (Nickie) Hughson, Kyle Hughson, Scott Hughson, Jeremy (Jaclyn) Anderson, Tara (Justin) Palmer, Amber Tiffin, Shelby (Scott) Teufel, Todd (Brittany) Hughson and Tracy (Travis) Darr; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, Sr.; son, Robert Hughson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Darlene Hughson; two brothers, Don E. Cox and Glen Phillips; and sister, Ida Mae Mundy.
