W. Richard “Rich” Braymer, age 74, a resident of Gladstone, Missouri, a former resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, Missouri.
Richard was born the son of Wilbur V. Braymer and Rachel (McBee) Hughes on November 29, 1950, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1968 graduate of Braymer C-4 High School. He served in the United States Air Force from February 1, 1972, until February 10, 1976. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979 from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. He then earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. Richard was united in marriage to Bonnie Muntz in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for GSA (General Services Administration) for many years. He then worked in maintenance for First Methodist Church in Liberty, Missouri. Richard was a member of the Braymer Tweedie-Murray American Legion Post #117 and the Warrensburg Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and having cookouts with his friends and family. Richard loved horses, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Braymer of the home; one son, Daniel Braymer and wife, Tammy, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; four daughters, Heather Ferguson of Mascoutah, Illinois, Shelly Blay and husband, Travis Oetken, of Liberty, Missouri, Debbie Coleman and husband, Troy, of Independence, Missouri, and Tammy Coulston and husband, Bob, of Gladstone, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by one brother, David Braymer and wife, Arlene, of Middleburg, Kentucky; and four sisters, Barbara Combs of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Betty Brown and husband, Randy, of New Boston, Missouri, Jeanette DeRousse and husband, Gary, of Junction City, Missouri, and Rose Bloss and husband, Gary, of Laclede, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawn Teehee; an infant son, Daniel Richard Braymer; one son, Billy Bob Braymer; and one brother-in-law, Gary Combs.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Inurnment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
