The vibrant, feisty, sociable, adventurous world traveler, Virginia (Ginny) Mae Pollman- Finuf, passed away on December 15, 2025, one day after her 88th birthday. She was born in Humboldt, Kansas in 1937 and after high school moved to Topeka, Kansas to attend secretarial school. She met Robert (Bob) Finuf while there. They had a whirlwind romance and in 1956 married while Bob was in the Marines.
Ginny retired from DuPont and Flexel Corporations where she was an executive secretary to the president. She made many lifelong friends while there. Bob and Ginny had three children, Marjorie Ann, Teresa Ann and Robert Dean, II. They lived in Topeka, Kansas until they packed up and moved to Utica, Missouri to be closer to their granddaughter, Cori, and her many activities at Southwest Schools. Later they moved to Chillicothe to be closer to the bowling alley and the hospital. Bob and Ginny brought a joyous light whenever they entered a room, lovers of dancing, hiking, traveling and family. They were married for an incredible 70 years. Her favorite color was red and her favorite bird the cardinal. Folklore says “when cardinals appear, an angel is near”.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Dean Finuf; children, Marj Locker and husband John of Ludlow, Missouri, Tracy Smith of Fresno, California and Bobby Finuf and wife Shelly of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, Nikki, Blake, Conrad and Cori; bonus grandsons, Brandon and Jamie; and great grandchildren, Paige, Kaden, Liam, Levi, Piper, Johnny, Bryson, Easton and Kallen.
Cremation was held. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Forrest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
