Thora Knight

Thora Knight, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Indian Hills Retirement Village of Chillicothe, Missouri. Thora was born the daughter of Ralph and Lillian (Appel) Hawkins on June 25, 1932 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona until moving to Chillicothe, Missouri in 2008. She worked in the Phoenix, Arizona area as a secretary for the Kool Radio Station, Water Resource, and retired from the Santa Maria Adult Care Center after 11 years. Survivors include one daughter, Valerie Sanfilippo and husband Tony of Chula, Missouri; two brothers, Tom Hawkins and wife Pat of Garrett, Indiana, Jerry Hartman and wife Donna of Minnesota; one sister, Nancy Gangwer and husband Merritt of Ligonier, Indiana; and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Stamets; and one brother, Jim Hawkins. There will be a cremation with burial at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
