With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Phyllis Campbell Caughron on August 5th, 2026, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, MO. Born on June 23, 1940, Phyllis was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout her 86 years of life, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
Phyllis was born to John and Josephine Campbell, who instilled in her the values of warmth, generosity, and compassion that she carried throughout her life. Preceding her in death were her parents, her cherished husband Jack Lee Caughron, and her siblings Luther Campbell, Leonard Campbell, Larry Campbell, Edith Eckenroed, and Helen Stafford. She also joins her dear in-laws Ruth and Harold Baggs, Carol Richardson and a nephew, Curtis Quinn in eternal peace.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Lisa Myers (Robin), Lori Pulver (Josh), and Lee Caughron (Jayme). Phyllis is also survived by her extended family, including her brothers-in-law Robert Caughron (Linda) and Harold Baggs (Teresa), her sister-in-law Valerie Simmons, grandchildren Jacob Caughron; Travis (Stephanie) Myers; Robert (Savannah) Myers; Rhonda Myers; Colleen (Cody) Haughton; Jade Pulver; Emerald (Dillon) Whiteman; great grandchildren Luther Lee Haughton; Simon Myers; Aidin Powell; Allie Doody; several nieces and nephews and countless friends who became family.
A woman of many passions, Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a particular fondness for horses and was an avid reader. Her cheerfulness was infectious, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome was unmatched. Known for her generous nature, she had a special knack for uplifting those around her with her warm smile and kind words.
Phyllis's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love and selfless spirit. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of giving, traits she embodied effortlessly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Greenhills Animal Shelter in Phyllis's honor, celebrating the values she held dear and continuing her legacy of compassion and generosity.
As we say goodbye to Phyllis, let us carry her spirit forward, finding comfort in the countless memories she gifted us and the love she shared so freely.
