Together, they helped raise their nephew Shane playing an important role in their lives and adored niece Nicole. Marie worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton, Missouri, for several years. She also spent time working at the Toy Factory in Braymer, Missouri, and at the local beauty salon. For many years, she and Leroy owned and operated Leroy's Market in Braymer, where they became a beloved part of the community. Marie was known for her immaculate home, and she had a deep love for flowers and birds. Marie and Leroy were active members of the Braymer United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully as the church bookkeeper for 32 years and as the supervisor of social events. She was also a dedicated member of PEO Chapter Q Sisterhood, where she served as President and graciously opened her home on many occasions to host special meetings.
