Mona E. Garthwaite

Mona E. Garthwaite, age 58, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Hillcrest Manor, Hamilton, Missouri.

Mona was born the daughter of Russell E. and Patty (Jones) Batson in Chillicothe, Missouri, on August 11, 1966. She enjoyed fishing. However, her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, James Garthwaite (Natasha) of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Sausha Marie Smith (Terry) of South Missouri; three grandchildren, Aben Smith, Bradley Garthwaite and Gracie Griffith; one brother Dennis Batson (Debbie) of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Rachel Bowes (Ronnie) of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Latisha Faye Foley; one grandson Kyle Juston Garthwaite; one brother, Herchel E. Batson; one sister, Rosalind E. Glenn; and one nephew, Nick Spainhour.

A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
