Meredith Ruth Littrell
Meredith Ruth Littrell, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Meredith was born the daughter of John and Mary (Bennett) Long on January 7, 1934, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1952 graduate of Lafayette High School. Meredith was united in marriage to Melvin Littrell on February 12, 1956, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2024.
Meredith was a member of the Wheeling Christian Church. She was also a member of CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship), and the Gourmet Club. She collected Angels, perfume bottles, and green dishes. Sewing was a passion for Meredith, having sewn many items of clothing for her grandchildren, which have then been passed down through the years. She loved shopping at Dillard’s, antiquing and quilt shopping. Meredith loved going to Branson to see the Presley’s, but most of all she loved being with her family, which filled her heart, and eating ice cream every evening with Melvin.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Littrell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Glenn Littrell and wife, Barbara, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Alice Littrell of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tiffany Littrell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jill Case and husband, Andrew, of Chillicothe, Missouri, Justin Littrell and wife, Ana, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Juleah Littrell of Overland Park, Kansas; four great grandchildren, Jade, Avery and Jack Littrell and Rae Case; one sister, Janet Zirkle of Grain Valley, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; one daughter-in-law, April Littrell; one brother, Jerry Long; and one brother-in-law, Roland Zirkle.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
