Marvin Gene Burns, age 93, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, and former resident of Laredo, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at StoneBridge Senior Living, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Marvin was born the son of Fred and Mayme (Hillyard) Burns, on July 6, 1932, in Coffee, Missouri. He graduated from Bethany High School, Bethany, Missouri. He was a United States Army veteran. Marvin was united in marriage to Rebecca McClure, she preceded him in death.
Marvin was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church, in Humphreys, Missouri. He was a truck driver most of his life, he drove tanker trucks for Amoco and Landes Oil for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and loved to travel. Marvin liked to visit with everyone and picking on people. With his sweet demeanor, he never complained about anything.
Survivors include his three sons, Gale Lee Burns of Colorado, Dale Gene Burns of California and Michael John Burns of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rebecca; first wife, Lela Wave Burns; four brothers, Charles Burns, Robert Burns, Fred Burns and Darwin Seymour; and four sisters, Lorie Seymour Carlton, Faye Seymour Moore, Virginia Burns Embree and Betty Burns Wright.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Humphreys, Missouri, on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
