Kerby A. Morris, age 77, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, peacefully next to his wife of 56 years.
Kerby was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann De Manranville; his father and stepmother, Herbert P. Morris and Garnet Morris; his twin brother, Herbert Morris and younger brother, Richard P. Morris.
He leaves behind his wife, Virginia I. Morris, of the home; two daughters, Jessica Leigh Francis and significant other, Gary Conyers, of Braymer, Missouri, and Jeanette A. Karnes of Wathena, Kansas; one son, Nicholas W. Morris and wife, Danielle, of Braymer; and their two “great” daughters and the joy and light of his life, Audrey Morris and Annabelle Morris; and granddaughter, Tabitha Knott and husband, Steven Knott, of Sarasota, Florida.; a niece, Jill Cooper as well as a great niece and nephew, all of Texas.
Kerby served his country proudly when right out of high school, he joined the United States Air Force for four years and then the United States Army Reserves for twenty more years. He worked as a mechanic and welder before retiring from Thompkins Trucking. He was known as a hard working Christian man who never shirked his responsibilities. He was also a loving, kind and gentle giant of a man. He was dedicated to his family and community. Kerby’s favorite quote, often heard by his children and grandchildren was, “Well, what did ya learn?”, followed by, “I’ll bet ya never do that again.”
Funeral Services will be held at Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas, on December 26, 2025. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, the American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and/ or Alcoholics Anonymous and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
