Karol Thistlewaite Colliver, age 80, of Colorado Springs CO, passed away in her home peacefully on July 12, 2026. She was born on October 12, 1945, to Gerald S. and Marjorie L. (Baltis) Thistlethwaite in Chillicothe MO. Karol married Jerry R Colliver in 1964 and they were married until his death in 2005.
After graduation from Chillicothe High School in 1963, Karol entered the workforce in Chillicothe. She had a variety of jobs including Rupp Auto Parts before she found her forever job at Farmers Electric Cooperative in 1972 and retired in 2010. After retirement, she and her Mother relocated to Colorado Springs to join family. She moved to The Satellite in Colorado Springs in 2014 and became very involved in the HOA. She served on the Board of Directors for nine years(2015 thru June 2023). In that time she was dedicated to the finances of the organization and served as Treasurer and later as Vice President before resigning. At the Satellite she met the 2nd love of her life, Basil (Bob) Littin. He survives of the home. Karol had many passions thru her life but keeping up with family and life long friends was first and foremost in her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, JB Thistlethwaite; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. She is survived by Basil Littin, her partner of 8 years; her three nephews, Greg Thistlethwaite of Canton, TX, Mike Thistlethwaite of Dallas, TX, and Christopher Thistlethwaite of Colorado Springs, CO; two chosen daughters, Melinda Kieffer of Chillicothe, MO and Mika Detmer of Trenton, IL; sister-in-law, Kay Thistlethwaite of Dallas, TX; cousins, Shirley Morley of Sedalia, MO, Mary Lynn Howey of Warrensburg, MO, Mark Gaddy of Colorado Springs, CO, Alan Gaddy of Seattle, WA, Jennifer Craft of Lebanon, MO, Jo Brittain of Lebanon, MO, and Jacquelyn Cruz of Springfield, MO; and great-nephew Derek Thistlethwaite of Houston, TX.
No formal service is planned, ashes will be scattered in Colorado and Missouri by her family. There should be no formal goodbye, please remember the good times we shared and be sure to tell the stories often, we are only forgotten when the stories stop.
