Harold Eugene Romeiser

February 5, 1930 — January 25, 2026

Utica

Harold Eugene “Stoney” Romeiser, age 95, Missouri, left this world peacefully during the early morning hours of January 25, 2026, at his home in Utica, Missouri, with his loving family by his side.
Harold was born on February 5, 1930, in Utica, Missouri, the son of Charles “Charley” Arthur Romeiser and Zoola Belle (Collar) Romeiser. Harold grew up and spent most of his life living in Utica and farming with his father and brother, Frank, while developing a strong work ethic and mechanical skills. At 19 years of age, Harold went to work for Vincent Moore, Moore Monument Company. Harold worked as a monument engraver for 46 years. Eventually training and teaching others the art of engraving. One of the young men that he trained was Lenny Anderson, who now has his own business.
A loving husband to Elaine, Harold was a pillar of strength and support for his family, often working two jobs (Super Saver and Skelly Oil) to make ends meet. Together, Harold and Elaine raised three children, Anita, Gary and Darrell. Harold was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love and hearty hugs. Harold and Elaine were together 78 years and in August 13, 2025, they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
Harold has had many interests and passions in life starting with farming, hunting and fishing. Then came talking on the CB radio to truckers, locals and others as far off as Montrose, Colorado. Not to forget, bowling, stock car racing with Don Beebe, attending country music shows and car shows (attending and showing two of his favorite vehicles). One car show took him to Colorado. Harold loved to travel and one of his trips took him to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with his oldest grandson. So many of Harold’s passions have been shared with his children. Harold could light up a room with his personality and sense of humor.
Survivors include his loving wife, Martha “Elaine” Romeiser of the home; his three children, Anita (Larry) Biswell, Gary Romeiser and Darrell (Diana) Romeiser; four grandchildren, Randall Scott (Michelle) Bradley, Christopher Fisher, Amy (Rick) Roth and Brett Romeiser; 27 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Calvin; and infant grandson, Haden.
The family would also like to express their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses who cared for Harold in his time of need. God bless you all.
