George Harold Richardson

George Harold Richardson, age 84, a resident of Gladstone, Missouri, a former resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri, with his son, Adam, by his side.
George was born the son of Arthur and Waunetta (Adams) Richardson, in Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Georgian Castaneda in Chicago, Illinois, and adopted their son Georgie (Pete) Richardson. He moved to Missouri and Kelly Ray was born. George was then united in marriage to Janet Jo Hatfield on September 3, 1982, at the Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri. They had one son, Adam Richardson. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2025.
George and Janet made Braymer their home and was a fixture in the community. He retired from the Braymer C-4 School District, where he was the evening custodian. After retiring, he stated that he missed seeing the kids run in the hallway when school was let out. In his spare time, he had a mowing business and was the caretaker for Oak Tree Square. George enjoyed fishing, and he found joy in woodworking and watching wrestling and cop shows on TV. He loved his family and tried to speak with them as much as possible. His vacations were often spent traveling to spend time with extended family members.
George is survived by two sons, Adam Richardson of Gladstone, Missouri, and Georgie “Pete” Richardson of Chicago, Illinois; one daughter, Kelly Ray of Carrollton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Alexander and Evelyn; two great- grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Altes of Tennessee and Edith Holder of Tennessee; four brothers, Art Richardson of Newaygo, Michigan, Michael Richardson of Newaygo, Michigan, Stefan Richardson of Newaygo, Michigan and Roger Richardson of Florida; one sister-in-law, Nancy Sirois of Utica, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Pete Sliwka of Chicago, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-father; his wife, Janet Jo; one sister, Donna Sliwka; three brothers, Ralph Richardson, Art Richardson and Gary Sirois.
Cremation was held. A Celebration of Life will be a Potluck dinner held at the Braymer Christian Church on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer Athletic Booster Club and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
