Our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma- great-great grandma, aunt, cousin and friend to many, peacefully passed away in her home Monday February 2, 2026.

Gay touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her positive spirit, warm heart and generous love will be remembered and cherished forever. Gay had many great accomplishments in her life, none more significant and dearer to her heart than her four surviving children, Jack Sr (Lynn), Judy (John), Jean, and John Jay. Gay had unconditional love and happiness for each of her grandchildren, Todd (Shannon), Jack Jr (Ea), Dawn (Chuck), Mellisa, Juli (Adam), David, Amiee, Janelle (Marvin), Susan (Nick), Mick, Jeffrey, Justina, Josh (Melissa), Jacob, Daniel, Krissy and Angie. GRANDMA LOVED US ALL. She also leaves behind 34 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her oldest son, James (Jim Jr) Trumbo Jr.; her first love James (Jim) Trumbo Sr.; son in law, Paul Moyers; and her loving husband, LeRoy Briggs.

A Celebration of Life will be held graveside at the Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contribution in her honor be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kansas/Missouri http://Alzheimer's Association .kansascity.
