Dorothy Transue

Dorothy Lorene Transue, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at StoneBridge Senior Living, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Dorothy was born the daughter of John and Mabel (Hoover) Transue on August 21, 1930, in Meadville, Missouri. She was a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School. In 1956, Dorothy started working for Farmers’ Electric Cooperative in Chillicothe, in the billing department, and worked there for over 30 years. She has a strong passion for caring for animals and nature, and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her backyard. Dorothy was also diligent at maintaining the farm where she grew up.

Survivors include two sisters, Doris Pfaff and husband, Charles, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Donna Clark of Bella Vista, Arkansas; five nieces and nephews, John Pfaff, Diane Blaukat and husband, Rodney, Brian Pfaff, Debbie Gieselman, and husband, Roger, and Justin Pfaff and wife, Jill; and eight great nieces and nephews, Kaleigh Pfaff, Mackenzie Pfaff, Cierra Pfaff, Maggie Pfaff, CJ Pfaff, Jake Pfaff, Anna Pfaff, and Ella Pfaff. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Don Clark; and dear friend, Helen Ann Skinner.

Cremation was held. A graveside service will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest O.
