Doris Ann DeLisle, age 95, a resident of Cameron, Missouri, formerly of Cowgill, Missouri, and Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Cameron Nursing Center, Cameron, Missouri.
Doris was born the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Frazier) Brookshier on May 27, 1930 in Polo, Missouri. Doris married her beloved husband, William Gene DeLisle on July 10, 1971, in Cowgill, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2019.
She worked for B&L Optical Company in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. She then worked for the IRS for 20 years in Kansas City, Missouri, and then 20 years in Memphis, Tennessee. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Springfield, Missouri, which was William’s hometown. Doris was a longtime member of the Germantown Baptist Church in Germantown, Tennessee. She then was a member of Second Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.
Survivors include her four nieces, Denise Firth, Jennie Cohee, Theresa Richards and Lori Payne; three nephews, Larry Brookshier, Jeff Brookshier and Bob Brookshier; several great nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Donna Bernet and husband Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one brother, Loren Brookshier; two sisters, Frances Brookshier and DeLoris Firth; and one nephew, Dennis Firth.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, August 11, 2025, one hour prior to the service at 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill, Missouri.
