Donna Carman Stuempel
Donna Carman Stuempel, age 86, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
Donna was born the daughter of John Lofty Dunn II and Agnes Ocie (Carman) Dunn on December 3, 1935. She attended Ashland Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of East High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Friends University in 2007. She worked for Western Union for 33 years in communications, retiring in 1985, and KCKCC in the student financial-aid office, retiring in 2010.
Donna was a lover of all fine arts. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing the piano, and painting. One of her greatest accomplishments was being voted best actress her senior year of high school. Traveling the world was a preferred pastime (over 30 different countries!) Florence, Italy was her favorite discovery. She was a member of TOPS, Nu Phi Mu and Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include one son, Mark Stuempel (Anna) of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, John "Jack" Dunn lll (Barbara) of Independence, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews: David Bonadonna (Cathy), Janet Middleton (Brian), Connie Greco (Raymond), Linda Schirber (Tony), Brian Dunn (Kim), Jarrett Dunn (Melissa), Bruce Hollowell (Bobbi). She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Martha "Martie" Hollowell; and Donna's former husband, Francis Stuempel.
Funeral services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreen Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
