Dr. Clinton “Roger” Blakely, age 83, a resident of Marshall, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his residence.
Roger was born on October 31, 1942, to Marvin and Edith Ione (McCracken) Blakely, in Sonoma, California. He was united in marriage to Lillian Zullig on August 27, 1962, in Avalon, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Roger began his extended career in education and administration in 1967. He obtained an undergraduate at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Roger then obtained his Master’s and Doctorate from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He retired as an Administrator from Marshal Public Schools in 2015.
Roger was a member of Blue Mound Cowboy Church as well as the Rotary club. He was still attending School Board meetings when he could. Roger enjoyed his hobby farm, with his donkeys and other pets. He liked a good yard sale, collecting marbles and watching westerns. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian, of the home; three sons, Chris Blakely (Maggie) of Marshall, Missouri, Cleve Blakely (Amy) of Springfield, Missouri and Curt Blakely (Michelle) of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, Lynde Hock, Curtis Blakely, Jennifer Turner, Courtland Blakely, Dianne Denmark, Katelyn Milligan, Heather Young and Jeremiah Blakely; six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Makayla, Asher, Asa, Avery Rose and Holden; three brothers, Richard Blakely (Carol) of Hamilton, Missouri, Wesley Ray Blakely (Sandra) of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Ralph Blakely (Charlotte) of Chillicothe, Missouri; three sisters, Rena Jean Saldivar (Joseph) of Grandview, Missouri, Rebel Maxine Amorosa of Independence, Missouri and Robin Blakely; one sister-in-law, Linda Blakely of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hunter Ronald Blakely and one brother-in-law, John Amorosa.
Funeral services will be held at Blue Mound Cowboy Church, Dawn, Missouri, on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Blue Mound Cowboy Church, Dawn, Missouri, on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri.
