Chad Eric Murry, age 66, of Platte County, Missouri, was killed in a one vehicle accident on his way to church Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Chad was born July 21, 1959 to Marjorie (Littrell) and William L. Murry of Wheeling, Missouri. He attended Wheeling Elementary, Jr. and High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, track and field. He graduated May 1977. Chad worked for Donaldson’s and also attended Missouri Western State College before he joined the United States Postal Service in 1980. Chad became a Letter Carrier and worked in Parkville, MO, Downtown at the Kansas City, Missouri Post Office, The Gladstone Post Office, and finally The North Kansas City Post Office. While working at The North Kansas City Post Office, Chad worked as a Supervisor, overseeing the carriers and how they delivered the mail. He also had the opportunity to work with the Postal Inspectors. He also took a position at the Wheeling Post Office as Interim Post Master for a while. He was awarded several safe driving awards throughout his career before retiring in 2017. Chad enjoyed working for the Post Office and loved to visit with the people on his route. He had some harrowing experiences at times being chased on foot by dogs and jumping onto the roof of his jeep, getting shot at, and having kids poke long sticks in his windows trying to harass him. He’d come home with holes in his shirt tails, scratches on his arms and hands as he avoided injury and still delivered the mail.
