Catherine L. Cangelosi-Brizendine

February 28, 1931 — January 28, 2025

Fort Collins

Catherine L. Cangelosi-Brizendine, age 93, a resident of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Colorado West Rehabilitation Center, Fort Collins, Colorado.

Catherine was born the daughter of Isaac and Thelma (Powell) Radabaugh on February 28, 1931. She attended Chillicothe High School until the age of 15 and then graduated from Dawn High School. In November of 1951, Catherine was united in marriage to Joseph James Cangelosi, in California.

Catherine lived East of Chillicothe until her parents bought a farm south of Dawn in 1946. She then moved to Long Beach, California, at the age of 19, and worked at several hospitals until retiring. Catherine then moved back to Dawn to take care of her mother. She remained there until 2022, when she moved to Colorado to live with her daughter Martha. Her love was for books and traveling. She enjoyed her trips to Alaska and fell in love with Sitka Clay. She also enjoyed the beauty of her collection of blown glass, that she acquired on her travels around the world. She loved to travel, whether by plane, ship or train. She would find herself talking to a complete stranger that would appear as if she knew them all her life.

Catherine is survived by two daughters, Martha Parker of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Jane Benson of Bay City, Michigan; five grandchildren, Marc Parker and wife Bevin Claire of Fort Collins, Colorado, J. Michael Parker of Fort Collins, Colorado, Isaac Benson and wife Chrystal of Midland, Michigan, Joshua Benson of Oregon, and Jennifer Benson from Oregon; three great grandchildren, Cameron and Henry Parker and Leona Benson; one sister, Linda Hicks of Drummond, Oklahoma; and one niece, three nephews and multiple cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, J Michael Cangelosi; and one brother, John Radabaugh.
