Obituary

Brandon Wayne "Bubby" Askew, age 32, a resident of Chula, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at his residence, Chula, Missouri.

Brandon was born the son of Douglas and Leana (Dannatt) Askew on January 31, 1994 in Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He was a 2012 graduate of Meadville High School. He worked as a crew leader at MoDot for the last four years. He previously worked at Modine, Trenton, Missouri for 11 years. Bubby was passionate about cooking, grilling and baking. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and playing "magic the gathering" with his friends. He was obsessed with taking things apart and putting them back together again. He loved anything motorized, ATVs, go carts and working on any kind of vehicle. His adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Leana Coberley (Michael "Dewey" Hertzog) of Princeton, Missouri; one sister, Jenna Kincaid (Chris Richardson) of St. Joseph, Missouri; one step-brother, Tyler (Renae) Coberley of Shafter, Missouri; his fiance, Kaylee Myers and son, Braylin Provolt of the home; and grandparents, Dwight and Joyce Hurley of Novinger, Missouri, He was preceded in death by his dad, J.C. Coberley; maternal grandfather, James "Tuck" Dannatt; and paternal grandparents, Marshall and Amanda Askew.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 4:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Trenton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Kaylee Myers for an education fund for Braylin Provolt. Contributions may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri.
