Billy Joe Searcy

Billy Joe Searcy, age 83, a resident of Laredo, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Billy was born the son of Walter and Lottie Fae (Ishmael) Searcy on May 12, 1942, in Linn County, Missouri. He was one of thirteen children. Billy was united in marriage to Lila Cartright, on December 9, 1961, in Hickory, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Billy was a dedicated and skilled welder who spent 42 years of his career at Donaldson's in Chillicothe, Missouri. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and friends alike. He spent time in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a master gardener and he loved to share his tomatoes and other produce with friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Lila of the home; two sons, Daniel Searcy of Laredo, Missouri and Joe Searcy and wife Sheryl of Trenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Colby Searcy of Humphreys, Missouri, Maddie Fair (Bruce) of Trenton, Missouri and Carter Searcy of Galt, Missouri; six great grandchildren; one brother, James Searcy (Roberta) of Ravanna, Missouri; two sisters, Norma Jean Hobbs and Betty June Murphy of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; and six brothers and sisters
A Memorial service will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 13, 2025, following the Memorial service until 12:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alpha Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
