Betty Ruth Mason, born October 27, 1932 in Cowgill, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family and love on September 12, 2025 at Golden Age Nursing Home of Braymer, Missouri. She was the daughter of Merle and Russell McPheeters and a proud graduate of Polo High School.
On December 13, 1950, Betty married the love of her life, C. L. Mason. Together they built a home filled with faith, family and devotion. Betty was a lifelong member of the Cowgill United Methodist Church, where she found strength, community and purpose.
Betty is survived by her daughter Jo Ellen Buck (Rick); granddaughters Angela Ham (Jerry) of Cowgill, Missouri, and Christene Benjamin (David) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Kenny Oswald of Liberty, Missouri, Mya Oswald of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Brandon Thomas of McKeeport, Pennsylvania, and Matthew Ham of Kansas City, Missouri; nephews Curt (Crisy) Pollard of Lampe, Missouri and Dennis (Becky) Pollard of Lampe, Missouri along with many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband C.L. Mason, her parents, Merle and Russell McPheeters, her sister, Emily "Sue" Pollard, and her brother, Robert "Bob" McPheeters, brother-in-law, Floyd Mason and her niece, Belinda Barr.
Betty will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations who follow, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
An additional "thank you" to all the nurses, aides, social workers and staff of Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice from Betty's family.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 27, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall, 110 E. 7th St, Cowgill, Missouri, 64601.
