August “Augie” William Sievering, Jr., age 99, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, a former resident of Mooresville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, surrounded by his family.

Augie was born the son of August Gerhart William and Elsie Amelia (Keilhack) Sievering on September 19, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri. He earned his high school diploma in 1947, after serving in World War II. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944 until 1946, as a Radioman 3rd Class. He served on the Amphibious Air Support Control Team and served on many ships and on land. Augie was united in marriage to Joy Janice Bedell on September 6, 1953, in Meadville, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a carpet, linoleum and tile layer for over 40 years. He also worked in tire and lube at Walmart for many years. Augie also worked as a bank courier and retired in his late 80’s. He was a member of the Ludlow Community Church, Ludlow, Missouri. Augie was also a member of the Ludlow Lions Club, the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, and the Roy L. Burkett VFW Post #858. In his free time, Augie made potholders. He loved gardening and was known for many years as the pumpkin man of Mooresville.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Sievering of the home; two sons, Carl Sievering and wife, Deed, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Mark Sievering and wife, Dena, of Hale, Missouri; one daughter, Susan Stubrud and husband, Larry of Letts, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Augie is also survived by two sisters, Betty Evenson of Kansas City, Kansas, and Selma Williams of Estes Park, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Sharon Albertson of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Mike Bedell of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant grandson, Anson Sievering; one great grandson, Cameron Lewis; four sisters; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mooresville Cemetery, Mooresville, Missouri.
